Yes, this product is 100% dishwasher safe! Stick it in that dishwasher! 100% Silicone products can handle the temperature inside all commercially available residential dishwashers. You can also wash our entire line of silicone dog toys in the dishwasher as well.

We recommend using the dishwasher after every meal, and once a week deep clean each implement your dog feeds or drinks from. Chewy recommends using bleach and water soak for 30 minutes, and then a soap and water scrub/rinse, before putting the deeply cleaned products into the dishwasher one more time. If you don’t want to use bleach or your dog has a reaction to it, vinegar water can also be used. Please use white vinegar and not apple cider vinegar for this soak. As always, rinse all cleaning agents from dog food bowls and mats thoroughly before returning to use.

We recommend against it for a couple reasons. Plastic can cause acne and skin inflammation to animals (and humans) that eat from it or have it in contact with their skin. The EPA has also just released studies showing the negative effects on joints, reproductive health, and immune system because of PFAS in the water supply (guess where PFAS come from…). It is also not safe to serve food (to humans or other animals) on plastic that has experienced heating, or scratching and grooving. Those scratches and grooves can host bacteria and most used plastic containers have scars. Single-use plastic is also the single greatest ecological disaster the human race has created. Throw sticks, not trash!
